Polymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.Alginate‐HPC composite fibers spun via CaCl2‐induced gelation process. Fiber diameter ranges from 100 to 200 μm after air drying. Higher alginate boosts water absorption in dried fibers. HPC selectively diffuses out when fibers are soaked in water. Crosslinking with hexamethylene diisocyanate improves mechanical strength.

Polymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.Cellulose nanocrystals extracted from Mauritia flexuosa petiole were combined with MCM‐41 mesoporous silica to create a diclofenac‐loaded hybrid nanocomposite. Incorporation into electrospun PVA scaffolds enabled controlled diclofenac release and high cell viability, highlighting their potential for localized drug delivery.
