A theory of political divergence and gradual institutional change

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Political Science, EarlyView.

This paper proposes a formal theory to investigate the interaction between short‐run and long‐run political dynamics, highlighting a co‐evolution of political institutions and social structures.

Biometric Analysis of Giant and Large Murid Remains From Matja Kuru 2, Timor‐Leste

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Published research on Matja Kuru 2 (MK2) demonstrates its significance for understanding human lifestyle during the terminal Pleistocene and Holocene. Murids represent the most commonly identified taxa in the site, with specimens preliminarily classified as small, large and giant based on size comparisons.

An Experimental Approach on Pearl Shell (Pinctada margaritifera) for a Microwear Study of Shell Artefacts From French Polynesia

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pinctada margaritifera (black‐lipped pearl oyster) artefacts are ubiquitous in the archaeological record throughout the Pacific and particularly in Polynesia. Despite efforts towards the development of typologies, the lack of microwear and use‐wear studies has prevented the development of technological approaches. We used 20 pearl shell valves

Refining the timing of Middle Pleistocene (MIS 12 to MIS 6) ice advances into northern central Europe: sedimentological analysis and single‐grain luminescence dating of glaciotectonic complexes and tunnel‐valley fills

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.
