Applying a Complexity Lens to Policy Implementation: How Feedback Loops Help to Understand Systems Change in Integrated Healthcare

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Although a complexity theory lens can help to understand national policy implementation at a local government level, application of this lens often remains at a metaphorical level. We illustrate how complexity concepts, such as adaptation, feedback, emergence and co‐evolution can be used practically in research on policy ...

One size fails all? EU insolvency law between harmonisation and 28th regime

open access: yesInternational Insolvency Review, EarlyView.
Abstract The European Union's efforts to harmonise national insolvency laws have long been seen as a key step towards the completion of the Internal Market and, in particular, its Capital Markets Union project. Yet despite years of legislative activity, meaningful convergence has remained elusive.

Assessing the Aged Prestress Concrete Girder’s Quality in Al-Rayhanna Bridge Using NDT

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
Many of the Iraqi highway bridges (especially in Anbar Province) are in poor condition even after they have been checked and determined to satisfy acceptable standards due to the effect of many risk factors. These risks are related to factors such as the

Beyond omics: From descriptive profiling to causal and scalable design of fermentation microbiomes

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Fermentation microbiomes play essential roles in food production, feed preservation, waste valorization, and diverse sustainable industrial processes. Although multi‐omics and systems biology have substantially advanced our understanding of their assembly, interactions, and functional dynamics, industrial translation remains constrained by fragmented ...

Plastic luminescence in mechanoluminescent composites

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Through compression tests and numerical simulations, this study demonstrates that the luminescence of a mechanoluminescent (ML) composite is strongly associated with plastic strain, thereby providing new insight into deformation‐induced luminescence during the plastic stage.

Exposure–Recovery Approach for Hepatic Toxicity Analysis of Pyrethroid Lambda‐Cyhalothrin: Histopathological, Histochemical, and Biochemical Responses in Oreochromis niloticus

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lambda‐cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide widely used in agriculture, but its potential to contaminate aquatic ecosystems and exert high toxicity on fish at low concentrations raises ecotoxicological concerns. While standard histopathological and biochemical assessments are common, the novel integration of pigment‐based ...

Prediction of Concrete Compressive Strength Based on Gradient-Boosting ABC Algorithm and Point Density Correction

open access: yesEng
Accurate prediction of concrete compressive strength is essential for ensuring structural safety in civil engineering, particularly in road and bridge construction, where inadequate strength can lead to deformation, cracking, or collapse. Traditional non-

Differential Associations Between Relational Health and Mental Health Among Civilian and Military‐Affiliated Samples Reporting Moral Injury

open access: yesJournal of Counseling &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The symptoms of anxiety and depression are commonly reported within military‐ and non‐military‐affiliated populations, with considerable evidence available to counselors regarding which relational characteristics function as protective factors among these populations.

RETHINKING ECONOMY-WIDE REBOUND MEASURES: AN UNBIASED PROPOSAL [PDF]

open access: yes
In spite of having been first introduced in the last half of the ninetieth century, the debate about the possible rebound effects from energy efficiency improvements is still an open question in the economic literature.
