Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Receiver operating characteristics of Radio VisioGraphy

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 1995
The diagnostic utility of intra-oral images obtained from the RVG second generation digital imaging system are compared with standard film images with the use of receiver operating characteristic analysis. Ten phantoms were constructed, each with 8 extracted teeth that had 12 approximal surfaces per phantom with holes drilled randomly to simulate ...

Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) Curves

Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, 1988
The goal of diagnostic testing is to identify patients with a particular disease. Often, it is just as important that the test not mistakenly identify healthy persons as having disease. For example, a new test for the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) might identify 99.99% of all patients infected with the human ...

Understanding receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves

CJEM, 2006
In this issue of the Journal, Auer and colleagues conclude that serum levels of neuron-specific enolase (NSE), a biochemical marker of ischemic brain injury, may have clinical utility for the prediction of survival to hospital discharge in patients experiencing the return of spontaneous circulation following at least 5 minutes of cardiopulmonary ...

Receiver Operating Characteristic Studies and Measurement Errors

Biometrics, 1997
A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve expresses the probability of a true positive (PTP) as a function of the probability of a false positive (PFP) for all possible values of the cutoff between cases and controls. Theta, the area under ROC curve, is a measure of the diagnostic ability of the separator variable.
