Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

The receptive vocabulary of Spanish 6th-grade primary-school students in CLIL instruction: A preliminary study

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Content and Language Integrated Learning, 2013
One of the key factors in early stages of L2 learning is the number of words learners know. However, there has been little research regarding the receptive vocabulary size of learners involved in content and language integrated learning (CLIL) programmes

Measuring Receptive Vocabulary Knowledge of Young Learners of English

open access: yesPorta Linguarum Revista Interuniversitaria de Didáctica de las Lenguas Extranjeras, 1970
Vocabulary knowledge that constitutes the milestones of written and oral language is one of the essentials of foreign language learning. Despite its vital importance, vocabulary learning and teaching does not get the necessary attention in L2 learning. As possession of lexical knowledge is a sine qua non for communicative competence, it is essential to

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Probabilistic and fuzzy reasoning in simple learning classifier systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This paper is concerned with the general stimulus-response problem as addressed by a variety of simple learning c1assifier systems (CSs). We suggest a theoretical model from which the assessment of uncertainty emerges as primary concern.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
