Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Genetic inference of on-target and off-target side-effects of antipsychotic medications.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics
It is often difficult to ascertain whether patient-reported side-effects are caused by a drug, and if so, through which mechanism. Adverse side-effects are the primary cause of antipsychotic drug discontinuation rather than poor efficacy.

Progress in structure-based drug development targeting chemokine receptors

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
As a critical subfamily of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), chemokine receptors (CCRs) play pivotal regulatory roles in immune cell migration, inflammatory modulation, tissue regeneration, and tumor microenvironment (TME) remodeling.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Solubilization and Display of G Protein-Coupled Receptors on Beads for Real-Time Fluorescence and Flow Cytometric Analysis

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2000
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) and cellular signaling elements are prime targets for drug discovery. Sensitive realtime methods that expand the analytical capabilities for these elements can play significant roles in basic research and drug discovery.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
