Recharge offsetting - maintaining recharge in an urban environment
Through the updated Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2016), the Lake Simcoe Watershed can expect growth of an estimated 9,000 hectares of new development over the next 25 years. The Province of Ontario has increased development density targets which will accordingly increase impervious areas in an already urban environment; making it more ...

Recharge, a Model of Potential Recharge of Aquifers Applied to Mainland France
Calculating aquifer recharge provides a means of estimating the renewable fraction of groundwater resources, which is often difficult to quantify. This paper introduces the RECHARGE method, developed to calculate potential groundwater recharge from precipitation infiltration, and its application across mainland France over an extended historical period.

This work presents a 3D Sb‐embedded hollow carbon nanofiber (Sb@HCF) host for ultra‐stable Na metal anodes. Experimental analyses and theoretical simulations clearly uncovers that in situ formed Na‐Sb alloy guides uniform Na deposition and serves as efficient ion transport highways. The Sb@HCF‐based cells achieve exceptional cycling stability in half‐,

Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Urban modelling as storytelling: using simulation models as a narrative [PDF]
This article examines the distinctions between empirical and simulation models using the metaphors of argument and narrative. It argues that all argumentation is contextualized within a narrative that is either inferred or communicated ...

Water Management in a River Basin with Downstream Externalities [PDF]
Most water for agricultural and municipal uses comes from river basins. Traditionally the analysis of trade-offs has been confined to evaluating the marginal value of water in urban and municipal uses.
