Capacity of the AWGN Channel with Random Battery Recharges [PDF]
We consider communication over the AWGN channel with a transmitter whose battery is recharged with RF energy transfer at random times known to the receiver. We assume that the recharging process is i.i.d. Bernoulli. We characterize the capacity of this channel as the limit of an $n$-letter maximum mutual information rate under both causal and noncausal

Risk-aware Resource Allocation for Multiple UAVs-UGVs Recharging Rendezvous [PDF]
We study a resource allocation problem for the cooperative aerial-ground vehicle routing application, in which multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with limited battery capacity and multiple Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) that can also act as a mobile recharging stations need to jointly accomplish a mission such as persistently monitoring a set of

Electrolyte Engineering Strategy with Catecholate Type Additive Enabled Ultradurable Zn Anode
A catecholate‐type molecule is proposed as a multifunctional electrolyte additive, providing a strong buffering ability as well as homogeneous (101)‐textured electroplating morphology. The modified Zn anode exhibits a remarkable rate capability, extraordinary reversibility, and superior cyclic stability.

Comparison between MODFLOW Groundwater Modeling with Traditional and Distributed Recharge
Groundwater models serve the function of predicting and analyzing aquifer behavior. They require input information, such as hydrogeological parameters like hydraulic conductivity and storage coefficient, which are used to calibrate the model, and ...

Battery Recharge Time of a Stochastic Linear and Non-Linear Energy Harvesting System [PDF]
Systems harvesting energy from a stochastic source have been widely studied in the literature. However, we are not aware of any work that deals with the time it takes for a battery to recharge up to a given level, when the energy source is discrete stochastic. This letter aims to examine the recharge time of a perfect battery. We examine the cases when

Designing for Degradation: Transient Devices Enabled by (Nano)Cellulose
Recent progress in transient devices enabled by (nano)cellulosic materials is reviewed. Transiency mechanisms, advantages of nanocelluloses, and a suite of applications are discussed. A circular thinking approach coupled with life cycle assessment is applied to critically revisit the potential, advantages, and challenges of nanocellulose‐enabled ...
