Artificial groundwater recharge, I. Circular recharging area
Journal of Hydrology, 1975Abstract Artificial groundwater recharge is of increasing importance as an essential component of water-management programs. The fluctuation of the water table in response to recharge depends on the size and shape of the recharging area, on the duration and the type of variation of the recharge rate, and on the hydraulic and geometric parameters of ...

Artificial groundwater recharge, II. Rectangular recharging area
Journal of Hydrology, 1975Abstract The nonlinear, partial-differential equation characterizing the unsteady flow in an unconfined aquifer receiving uniform vertical recharge from a rectangular spreading basin is solved numerically. The method of solution consists of the alternating-direction implicit scheme with an inhomogeneous grid spacing.
