Using Reciprocal Teaching to Develop Thinking in a Senior High EFL Classroom in Taiwan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
[[abstract]]The 2010 Guidelines for Senior High School English Curriculum marks an important breakthrough in English language teaching in Taiwan. It is the first time that critical thinking and creative thinking are included in the curriculum guidelines.

Ignoring within‐flower self‐fertilization and inbreeding depression biases estimates of selection on floral traits in a perennial alpine herb

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 112, Issue 11, Page 2540-2551, November 2024.
Conventional studies of phenotypic selection on floral traits often ignore the mating system and inbreeding depression. These results show that the within‐flower selfing rate depends on floral sex allocation and phenology. Under strong inbreeding depression, neglecting such dependence biases estimates of phenotypic selection on those traits.

The influence of ambient temperature on the expression of herkogamy.

open access: yes, 2013
Accession means of SAS (the proxy of herkogamy) in Col-0, BRA, and SIM plants grown under different ambient temperatures and identical light conditions are shown.

Techniques for Studying Materials: Reciprocal Space

open access: yes, 2010
This set of animations shows the relationship between a real lattice and the reciprocal lattice. It introduces the Ewald sphere and the explanation of reciprocal absences.

Reciprocal Vulnerability in the Face of Patriarchal Violence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Based on the traumatising experience of witnessing a woman’s violent death during my fieldwork, I discuss how “reciprocal vulnerability” challenges the professional image of the privileged researcher, focusing on the intersection of my own ...

Herkogamy and mate diversity in the wild daffodil Narcissus longispathus: beyond the selfing–outcrossing paradigm in the evolution of mixed mating

open access: yes, 2012
Spatial separation of male and female reproductive structures (herkogamy) is a widespread floral trait that has traditionally been viewed as an adaptation that reduces the likelihood of self-pollination. Here we propose that
