A survey of chromosome anomalies in Malta [PDF]
433 individuals referred for chromosome analysis between 1983 and 1987 were included in the survey. Among individuals with dysmorphic features or congenital anomalies 42% of babies referred in the neonatal period and 12 to 30% of individuals in older age

Occurrence of reciprocal translocation in Lathyrus boissieri Sirj (Fabaceae) from Iran.
Diploid Lathyrus boissier showed the 7 bivalents in most of pollen mother cells at prophase and metaphase of meiosis. The disturbances in the meiotic stage appeared to have been caused by reciprocal translocation.

alphabeta sequence of F is IS31 [PDF]
Previous studies have shown that there is a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) segment, of length 1.3 kb and denoted as the alphabeta sequence, which occurs twice on the F plasmid at corrdinates 93.2 to 94.5/OF kb and 13.7 to 15.0F kb.

Noise driven translocation of short polymers in crowded solutions
In this work we study the noise induced effects on the dynamics of short polymers crossing a potential barrier, in the presence of a metastable state. An improved version of the Rouse model for a flexible polymer has been adopted to mimic the molecular ...

The importance of aneuploidy screening in reciprocal translocation carriers.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the aneuploidy rate and the mosaicism of chromosomes not involved in reciprocal translocations. Aneuploidy screening (AS) (13, 16, 18, 21 and 22) was performed as a re-analysis on fixed blastomeres from 126 ...

CYTOGENETIC STIDY OF 366 AFFECTED CHILDREN WITH DOWN’S SYNDROME IN IRAN [PDF]
Down’s syndrome, or 21 trisomy, is the most common autosomal abnormality, with incidence of 1 per 815 live births in Iran. Worldwide reports indicate that about 95% are regular trisomy, or nondisjunction, 1% are mosaic and 4% due to translocation ...

Relation of common ABL kinase domain mutations with resistance to Tyrosine Kinase Inhibiters in patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in Middle Euphrates of Iraq [PDF]
Background: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a hematopoietic stem cell disease, associated with a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and chromosome 22, lead to the formation of the BCRABL fusion gene (Philadelphia chromosome).
