Modified-Roll Profile Correction for a Gear Shaping Cutter Made by the Lengthwise-Reciprocating Grinding Process

The tooth profile error of a gear shaping cutter made by the lengthwise-reciprocating grinding process (LRGP) is usually corrected by modifying the grinding wheel profile. However, such grinding wheel modification cannot eliminate the twisting profile error along the face of the shaping cutter.

Cutting of weeds in hill orchards is labour and time intensive. When performed with grass slasher or traditional dao through impact cutting, it consumes approximately 50% of total labour requirement for cultivation. A simple and low-cost reciprocating weed cutter was designed with a cutter bar width of 600 mm.
