Contou-Carrere symbol via iterated integrals and its reciprocity law [PDF]

open access: greenarXiv, 2010
This paper gives a new definition of the Contou-Carrere symbol in terms of an exponential of a Chen iterated integral and proves the corresponding reciprocity law.

Non-reciprocal Coulomb drag between Chern insulators [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Coulomb interaction between two closely spaced but electrically isolated conductors can induce a voltage in one of them upon feeding a current into the other.

Harbingers of Artin's Reciprocity Law. II. Irreducibility of Cyclotomic Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
In the first article of this series we have presented the history of auxiliary primes from Legendre's proof of the quadratic reciprocity law up to Artin's reciprocity law. We have also seen that the proof of Artin's reciprocity law consists of several steps, the first of which is the verification of the reciprocity law for cyclotomic extensions.

The Maxwell-Volterra reciprocity law in electrodynamics [PDF]

open access: greenarXiv, 2019
Use is made of the theory of elliptic equations with measures data to prove the Maxwell-Volterra reciprocity law. A simple one-dimensional example is also given.

The higher reciprocity laws: An example

open access: bronzeJournal of Number Theory, 1980
AbstractIn Section 128 of Smith's “Report on the Theory of Numbers” (Chelsea, New York, 1965) one finds a certain theta function whose coefficients are multiplicative arithmetic functions. It is shown in this paper that this is an elementary example of the well-known connection between the higher reciprocity laws of number fields, Artin L-functions ...

Classical Reciprocity Laws [PDF]

open access: yesAsia Pacific Mathematics Newsletter, October 2014, Vol 4, No 4, pp. 5--9, 2014
Using the quadratic reciprocity law as the motivating example, we convey an understanding of classical reciprocity laws.

Moreau's Law in "The Island of Doctor Moreau" in Light of Kant's Reciprocity Thesis [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Science Fiction and Philosophy, 2018
In this paper, I explore a tension between the Law in the novel The Island of Doctor Moreau, by H. G. Wells, and Kant’s reciprocity thesis. The Law is a series of prohibitions that Moreau has his beasts recite.

A Hilbert reciprocity law on 3-manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in the Mathematical Sciences, 2022
Based on our homological idelic class field theory, we formulate an analogue of the Hilbert reciprocity law on a rational homology 3-sphere endowed with an infinite link, in the spirit of arithmetic topology; we regard the intersection form on the ...

Chow dilogarithm and strong Suslin reciprocity law [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebraic Geometry, 2021
We prove a conjecture of A. Goncharov concerning strong Suslin reciprocity law. The main idea of the proof is the construction of the norm map on so-called lifted reciprocity maps.
