Performance of Polymer-Modified Asphalt Mixture with Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2009
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) mixtures have shown good resistance to rutting for hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement. Mixtures with polymer-modified binders such as styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) have also shown good performance against rutting and cracking.

Quantifying the impact of reclaimed asphalt pavement on airport asphalt surfaces

Construction and Building Materials, 2019
Abstract Airports desire sustainable infrastructure solutions and airport pavements provide an opportunity for increased reuse and recycling of materials. The recycling of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in airport pavement surfaces is attractive and viable, but has been resisted by many airports. Two asphalt mixtures, both produced with and without

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement in Concrete Pavements: Properties, Microstructure, and Design

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), when used as aggregate in concrete, is known to reduce the bulk concrete strength and modulus but not dramatically impact shrinkage, durability, or fracture properties, especially at lower replacement levels. This article presents an overview of RAP aggregates in concrete as it pertains to its effect on properties ...

Preparation of Cold Mix Asphalt using Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement

International Scientific Journal of Engineering & Management
With increasing urban development and traffic growth, the demand for road construction materials has increased significantly, leading to depletion of natural aggregates and increased environmental pollution due to conventional Hot Mix Asphalt production.
