Use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in warm mix asphalt (WMA) pavements: a review

Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, 2017
The limit in the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement material (RAP) proportion is restricted due to stiffness and workability issues related to RAP. This problem is addressed with the help of warm mix asphalt (WMA) which increases the proportion of RAP used by producing mixes having same/better properties viz., better workability, reduced viscosity than ...

Thermal conductivity of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and its constituents

International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2015
Up to the present, most work on the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) has been empirical in nature. Very recent advances have demonstrated that finite-element techniques can be effectively used for modelling asphalt mixing drums in order to optimise the relative proportions of new and recycled materials and to determine the amount of time ...

Artificially prepared Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP)—an experimental investigation on re-recycling

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2019
In this paper, the possibility of using different amounts of re-recycled (repeated recycled) Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in the asphalt mixture was experimentally investigated. First, a single virgin mixture was prepared and artificially aged to simulate the first generation of RAP to be used for designing the first generation of recycled mixtures.

Estimation of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) characteristics using simple indicative tests

Road Materials and Pavement Design, 2020
The design of hot recycled asphalt mixes with high RAP content, say more than 25%, as per existing guidelines is complex compared to the conventional Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) design.

Performance Evaluation of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) Aggregates in Rigid Pavement: A Review

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
The objective of this study is to understand the importance of using RAP for the construction of bituminous pavements. From this study and from previous research papers it can be concluded that using RAP is advantageous as RAP mixes can yield results equal or even higher than virgin mixes.

Effect of Rejuvenator on Porous Asphalt Mixtures Containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) Material

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
Based on the background of continuously increasing requirements on the performance of recycle pavement materials, the effect of rejuvenator with different content (3%, 6%, 9% and 12%) and different type on recycled porous asphalt mixture was studied in this paper.

The use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) aggregates in concrete

2000
The paper presents a laboratory study on the properties of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) concrete made with reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) to substitute natural aggregate. RAP aggregates were incorporated in concrete on the basis of maximum packing of the particles to provide a mixture with minium voids and thus optimum performance.
