Recognition, Enforcement and Reciprocity

open access: yesInternational Journal For Multidisciplinary Research, 2023
This article analyses the concept of reciprocity in the recent developments in recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements in the realm of Private International Law. In the process, the paper attempts to respond to a claim made in the article titled ‘Reciprocity and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments: a lot of bark but not much ...

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

Recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Private Law, 2008
This paper examines the law governing recognition of foreign court judgements in China and whether this regime is in practice effective. It is concluded that it is not, reflecting among other factors a more extensive problem in the Chinese legal system, that is, the limited reach of the courts in civil matters.

Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...
