Frequency-Reconfigurable Antenna Using Metasurface

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2014
A frequency-reconfigurable antenna designed using metasurface (MS) to operate at around 5 GHz is proposed and studied. The frequency-reconfigurable metasurfaced (FRMS) antenna is composed of a simple circular patch antenna and a circular MS with the same diameter of 40 mm (0.67 λ) and implemented using planar technology.

PATCH ANTENNA WITH RECONFIGURABLE POLARIZATION

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research C, 2009
A reconfigurable patch antenna consisting of a square patch with two cross-shaped diagonal slots is presented. The proposed design approach is based on the use of two pairs of switches in order to obtain both frequency and polarization reconfigurability.

A Broadband Bow-Tie Cavity-Backed Slot for Traveling-Wave Arrays in the Millimeter-Wave Band [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The use of bow-tie geometries to enhance the characteristics of a radiating element previously proposed by the authors is presented. The previous element consisted of a broadband cavity-backed slot in transmission configuration. The bow-tie shape of the

Pixel reconfigurable antennas: Towards low-complexity full reconfiguration

open access: yes2016 10th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2016
The explosive growth of wireless communications has brought new requirements in terms of compactness, mobility and multi-functionality that make reconfigurable antennas excellent candidates for future wireless networks. Pixel antennas are particularly interesting due to their ability to dynamically reshape its active surface to change their properties.

Dual Band and Beam-Steering Antennas Using Reconfigurable Feed on Sierpinski Structure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2015
Fractal patch antennas based on the Sierpinski structure are studied in this paper. The antennas operate at dual bands (around 2 and 5 GHz) and are designed to steer the beam directions at around 5 GHz band (the first harmonic).
