Processor caches play a critical role in the performance of today"s computer systems. As technology scales, due to manufacturing defects and process variations a large number of cells in a cache is expected to be faulty. The number of faulty cells varies from die to die and in the field of the application depends on the operating conditions (e.g ...

Shape-Reconfigurable Ferrofluids
Nano Letters, 2022Ferrofluids (FFs) can adapt their shape to a magnetic field. However, they cannot maintain their shape when the magnetic field is removed. Here, with a magneto-responsive and reconfigurable interfacial self-assembly (MRRIS) process, we show that FFs can be structured by a magnetic field and maintain their shape, like solids, after removing the magnetic

SSDR - Reconfigurable Firewall: Reconfiguration Model Performance
2008 4th Southern Conference on Programmable Logic, 2008There are a number of techniques and pieces of hardware and software aimed at promoting information security. In the present paper it is presented a security system dynamically reconfigurable in FPGAs. SSDR presents a robust architecture, which enables the implementation of specific and general security policies in order to guarantee services such as ...

Alsted and Bisterfeld, Hartlib and Comenius, Welsch and Leibniz all proposed to emend the Encyclopaedia of 1630, and all failed. Contemplating the failure of these attempts opens up the broadest vista attained by this study. The idea of an ‘enkyklios paideia’, a cycle or circle of instruction or education, is an ancient one which gradually took ...

Reconfigurable Terahertz Metamaterials
Physical Review Letters, 2009We demonstrate reconfigurable anisotropic metamaterials at terahertz frequencies where artificial "atoms" reorient within unit cells in response to an external stimulus. This is accomplished by fabricating planar arrays of split ring resonators on bimaterial cantilevers designed to bend out of plane in response to a thermal stimulus.

Paper presentation: Reconfiguring objects, reconfiguring meanings
International Journal of Education Through Art, 2018Abstract This project takes up the intersection of medium and content as a place where they can radically reconfigure one another. The entire process is a sort of unlearning; the habitual use of paper is disrupted. Physicality and meaning merge and emerge.
