Preliminary results of two novel devices for epiphysiodesis in the reduction of excessive predicted final height in tall stature

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, 2022
Background In the treatment of tall stature, the reduction of excessive predicted final height can either be achieved by hormonal treatment or surgically by temporary (tED) or permanent (pED) epiphysiodesis.

Reconstruction of potential energy profiles from multiple rupture time distributions

open access: yes, 2010
We explore the mathematical and numerical aspects of reconstructing a potential energy profile of a molecular bond from its rupture time distribution.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Accuracy of spike-train Fourier reconstruction for colliding nodes

open access: yes, 2015
We consider Fourier reconstruction problem for signals F, which are linear combinations of shifted delta-functions. We assume the Fourier transform of F to be known on the frequency interval [-N,N], with an absolute error not exceeding e > 0.

Strong Lensing Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We present a general linear algorithm for measuring the surface mass density 1-\kappa from the observable reduced shear g=\gamma/(1-\kappa) in the strong lensing regime.

Accurate 3D Face Reconstruction With Weakly-Supervised Learning: From Single Image to Image Set [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2019
Recently, deep learning based 3D face reconstruction methods have shown promising results in both quality and efficiency. However, training deep neural networks typically requires a large volume of data, whereas face images with ground-truth 3D face ...

Establishment and optimization of the two‐step induction system for generating primordial germ cell‐like cells from chicken embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study optimizes a two‐step induction system to generate PGCLCs from chicken ESCs. The induced cells express germline markers and migrate to gonads in ovo, offering a novel approach for avian genetic resource conservation. Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of sperm and eggs.
