A Toolbox for Record Linkage

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2004
We developed a record-linkage toolbox in order to compare the performance of various string-similarity measures for German surnames. This ”Matching Tool-Box” (MTB) is made up by independent, highly portable JAVA-programs. MTB is currently used for prototyping pre-processing tools and the empirical comparison of string-similarity measures.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

A. Survey of Entity Resolution and Record Linkage Methodologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A great deal of research is focused on formation of a data warehouse. This is an important area of research as it could save many computation cycles and thus allow accurate information provided to the right people at the right time.

Performance Evaluation and Accuracy Improvement in Individual Record Linking Problems Using Decision Tree Algorithm in Machine Learning [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Information Processing & Management
Record linkage is a vital process for consolidating data from different sources, particularly in Persian records where diverse data structures and formats present challenges. To tackle these complexities, an expert system with decision tree algorithms is

Record linkage in the Cape of Good Hope Panel*

open access: yesHistorical Methods: A Journal of Quantitative and Interdisciplinary History, 2019
In this article, we describe the record linkage procedure to create a panel from Cape Colony census returns, or opgaafrolle, for 1787–1828, a dataset of 42,354 household-level observations.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Incremental record linkage [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2014
Record linkage clusters records such that each cluster corresponds to a single distinct real-world entity. It is a crucial step in data cleaning and data integration. In the big data era, the velocity of data updates is often high, quickly making previous linkage results obsolete.

Building the National Database of Health Centred on the Individual: Administrative and Epidemiological Record Linkage - Brazil, 2000-2015

open access: yesInternational Journal of Population Data Science, 2018
Introduction In Brazil, the National Health System (SUS) provides healthcare to the public. The system has multiple administrative databases; the major databases record hospital (SIH) and outpatient (SIA) procedures.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Comparing Record Linkage methods for real-world perinatal and neonatal data without unique identifiers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Population Data Science, 2019
Background Data on newborns is regularly linked for epidemiological research. However, hospital data often suffers from incomplete data. We report on a linkage of two population-covering administrative health databases containing neonatal and perinatal ...
