ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Over the past decade, the EU has notably reimagined the application of European funds to ensure they foster a conducive environment for coordinated investment stimulation, structured reform implementation, and the enforcement of responsible fiscal-budgetary policies. This framework, dubbed as the „virtuous triangle” by the European Commission (EC), has

When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed

ABSTRACT Self‐healing materials represent a paradigm shift in designing functional biomedical devices for drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and 3D bioprinting. However, their clinical translation remains limited by challenges such as insufficient mechanical strength, potential cytotoxicity from chemical modifications, and complex activation ...

The governance of the recovery and resilience facility: a critical political economy perspective
The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) is the cornerstone of the NextGenerationEU, a stimulus package marking the shift of European governance towards expansionary policies and fiscal coordination. The instrument is temporary but with potentially lasting effects.

A developmentally inspired bioprinting approach enables the fabrication of pluripotent tissues that undergo shape‐morphing and in situ cardiac lineage specification. This method employs embedded bioprinting to deposit iPSCs within soft granular hydrogels to create pluripotent tissue constructs that undergo cell‐mediated shape morphogenesis.

Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...
