Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Implied Default Probabilities and Default Recovery Ratios: An Analysis of Argentine Eurobonds 2000-2002 [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper calculates implied recovery rates and implied default probabilities in a risk neutral setting for Argentine US-Dollar Eurobonds during the Argentine crisis from 2000 to 2002.

Struvite crystallisation and recovery using a stainless steel structure as a seed material. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A metallic system acting as a seed substrate has been designed and developed in order to assess its efficiency in recovering phosphorus as struvite. The device, consisting of two concentric stainless steel meshes, was immerged in the upper section of ...

Self-Remanufacturing or Outsourcing? Hybrid Manufacturing System With Remanufacturing Options Under Yield Uncertainty

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Yield uncertainty widely exists in manufacturing industries. Because of the particularities of the recovery and production processes, remanufacturing is seriously affected by the uncertainty of the production process, which also affects the ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Recovery rates: Uncertainty certainly matters

open access: yesJournal of Banking & Finance, 2019
Previous studies identify default rates as the main systematic determinant of bonds' recovery rates. In this work, we revisit this paradigm by investigating the impact of another factor: economic uncertainty. We study the influence of the latter and the one of traditional variables on the shape of recovery rates distributions, rather than on recovery ...

Personal recovery, clinical recovery and patient-rated measures

open access: yesEuropean Psychiatry, 2023
AbstractThis talk will cover two common areas of confusion. First, the relationship between personal recovery and clinical recovery will be described, using recent meta-analytic evidence. It will be argued that personal recovery is not the same as clinical recovery, and that there is now an established policy and practice consensus that supporting ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Balancing stress and recovery in sports [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
To reach elite level in sports, athletes have to start their intensive and time-consuming training at an early stage. The road to the top is a stressful one, not only due to the physiological stress of training, but also caused by psychological and ...
