The recovery rate of neurologically deviant newborns

Early Human Development, 1982
1507 newborns were examined neurologically at term; 80 of them were found to be abnormal. These were re-examined at 4 years of age, together with a control group of neonatally normal children. One child in the study group died, 8 were severely handicapped, 10 were mildly abnormal (MND = minor neurological dysfunction).

On the Performance of Recovery Rate Modeling

2006
To ensure accurate predictions of loss given default it is necessary to test the goodness-of-fit of the recovery rate data to the Beta distribution, assuming that its parameters are unknown. In the presence of unknown parameters, the Cramer-von Mises test statistic is neither asymptotically distribution free nor parameter free.

Respiratory recovery rates after poliomyelitis

The American Journal of Medicine, 1954
Abstract Over 1,000 young adults and children have recently survived the acute stage of poliomyelitis in the United States only to be left with permanent or protracted respiratory muscle paralysis with more or less complete quadriplegia. Through realistic and timely planning much can actually be offered these severely disabled patients.

Prediction of the Oocyte Recovery Rate in the Bitch

Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series A, 2001
In order to investigate the possibility of predicting the recovery rate of oocytes for use in a sperm–zona pellucida binding assay, ovaries were obtained from 67 bitches of 37 different breeds, and cumulus–oocyte complexes (COCs) were recovered by mincing the ovaries with a scalpel.

The determination of circuit recovery rates

Electrical Engineering, 1935
Actual interruption of an a-c circuit depends upon the ability of the circuit breaker to prevent the re-estabishment of the arc after the current goes through zero and the arc goes out. In some circuits full voltage appears across the contacts as quickly as 40 to 80 microseconds following the current zero.

Global Recovery Rate

2012
An obligor’s global recovery rate (GRR) represents the proportion of its facilities that is expected to be recovered in case of default. It is usually expressed as a percentage of the exposure at default (EAD) and can also be expressed by its complement 1 — the loss given default (LGD).

Electrodermal Recovery Rate in a Schizophrenic Population

Psychophysiology, 1975
ABSTRACTStudies by AX and Bamford (1970) and by Gruzelier and Venables (1972) showed that schizophrenics had faster electrodermal recovery rates than normals. This appeared paradoxical in view of the apparent association of fast recovery with goal‐oriented behavior.

Leptospirosis and embryo recovery rate in mares

Veterinary Record, 2012
INFECTION by leptospires is recognised as a disease of reproductive significance, causing abortions and stillbirths in horses (Sebastian and others 2005). Embryo transfer is important in horses, contributing to the breeding of superior genotypes, to obtaining offspring from mares that have become subfertile and providing a greater number of foals per ...

Reliability of Postexercise Heart Rate Recovery

International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2008
Passive postexercise heart rate (HR) recovery is currently used in the assessment of endurance athletes to determine changes in performance or in the clinical setting as a predictor of all-cause mortality. The purpose of this investigation was to assess the reliability of HR recovery.

The rate of recovery following whiplash injury

Injury, 1994
Fifty consecutive patients with soft-tissue neck injuries following rear end collisions were studied prospectively to assess their rate of recovery. Patients were seen within 5 days of the accident, after 3 months, 1 year and 2 years, and their symptoms were classified into one of four groups (A, asymptomatic; B, nuisance; C, intrusive; D, disabling ...
