A DFT Study of CO, H2, C2H2 and CH4 Adsorption onto SnS2-Based Monolayers: Favorable Sensitivity and Selectivity by Doping Single Pd or Pt Atoms

open access: yesMolecules
This study applied density functional theory (DFT) to investigate gas-sensitive devices based on Pt- and Pd-doped SnS2 monolayers, exploring their adsorption and sensing performance on four characteristic gases generated under normal operating or fault ...

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Influence of Shunt Branch on the Current Limiting and Recovery Performance of Variable Resistance SFCL

open access: yesIEEE Access
With the continuous development of power grid, the high short-circuit threatens the stability of the power system. The short-circuit exceeds the disconnection capacity of the circuit breaker and has a negative impact on the integrity and stability of the

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

Early vs late ICU admission in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries
Introduction: The type of admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) influences the prognosis of patients with severe pneumonia and, in the case of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia, this is still unexplored.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.
