The Decomposition of a Rectangle into Rectangles of Minimal Perimeter [PDF]
The problem of decomposing a rectangle into p subrectangles of equal area minimizing maximal subrectangle perimeter is considered. Both continuous and discrete versions are addressed. For the continuous case it is proved that one of four certain nearly-regular decompositions is optimal.

A large rectangle delays the perception of a separate small rectangle [PDF]
Deciding whether two objects, rather than one, are present takes longer for large-small and small-large pairs of rectangles than for large-large and small-small pairs of rectangles. This large-small slowdown was eliminated when the large rectangle was slightly modified, when the large and small rectangles were contiguous, or when the task was to ...

Improved Rectangle Attacks on SKINNY and CRAFT
The boomerang and rectangle attacks are adaptions of differential cryptanalysis that regard the target cipher E as a composition of two sub-ciphers, i.e., E = E1 ∘ E0, to construct a distinguisher for E with probability p2q2 by concatenating two short ...

Method of consecutive approximations in the problem of rational distribution of porosity at the pure bend of the bar of rectangular section [PDF]
This article is devoted to a task of rational distribution of porosity on bar section in case of a net bend. The solution of such task will allow to provide the necessary bearing capability in case of decrease in a material capacity of a design.

Application of a novel rectangular filtering microfluidic device for microfilarial detection
The rectangular filtering microfluidic chip was invented using microfluidics device fabrication technology and can separate living microfilariae from blood samples without a syringe pump. The diagnostic results are highly effective.
