A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Routing through a rectangle [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 1986
In this paper an O ( N log N ) algorithm for routing through a rectangle is presented. Consider an n -by- m rectangular grid and a set of N two-terminal nets.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Tiling a Rectangle with Polyominoes [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2003
A polycube in dimension $d$ is a finite union of unit $d$-cubes whose vertices are on knots of the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^d$. We show that, for each family of polycubes $E$, there exists a finite set $F$ of bricks (parallelepiped rectangles) such that the ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Orthogonal Latin Rectangles [PDF]

open access: yesCombinatorics, Probability and Computing, 2008
We use a greedy probabilistic method to prove that, for every ε > 0, every m × n Latin rectangle on n symbols has an orthogonal mate, where m = (1 − ε)n. That is, we show the existence of a second Latin rectangle such that no pair of the mn cells receives the same pair of symbols in the two rectangles.

The geometric effect of an off-centered cross-section on nickel–titanium rotary instruments: A finite element analysis study

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2017
Background/purpose: Geometric design dictates the mechanical performance of nickel–titanium rotary instruments. Using finite element (FE) analysis, this study evaluated the effects of an off-centered cross-sectional design on the stiffness and stress ...
