Effects of hydrogen concentration and film thickness on the vented explosion in a small obstructed rectangular container

International journal of hydrogen energy, 2019
The explosion venting is an effective way to reduce hydrogen-air explosion hazards, but the explosion venting has been less touched in an obstructed container.

The pressure drop along rectangular microchannels containing bubbles

Lab on a Chip, 2007
This paper derives the difference in pressure between the beginning and the end of a rectangular microchannel through which a flowing liquid (water, with or without surfactant, and mixtures of water and glycerol) carries bubbles that contact all four walls of the channel. It uses an indirect method to derive the pressure in the channel.

Dynamic Response of Rectangular Flexible Fluid Containers

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1996
Analytic solution methods are developed that can be used to evaluate dynamic response characteristics of partially filled flexible rectangular fluid containers under horizontal or vertical ground excitation. Fluid-structure interaction effects on the dynamic responses of partially filled fluid containers are taken into account incorporating wall ...

Experimental investigation on liquid sloshing in a rectangular container with an elastic cover

The Physics of Fluids
We present an experimental study on the natural sloshing frequencies and damping ratios of a liquid-elastic plate coupled system. Two types of edges including complete clamped edges and combined edges (two free and two clamped) are examined.

Primary and secondary resonance phenomenon for two-layer liquid sloshing in a rectangular container under horizontal excitation

The Physics of Fluids
Laboratory experiments were conducted to study primary and secondary resonant sloshing in a laterally excited rectangular container containing two-layer stratified liquids.

Non-linear hydroelastic vibrations in rectangular containers

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1988
Abstract For an infinitely long rectangular container of finite width and filled to a certain height with incompressible and non-viscous liquid, the non-linear hydroelastic vibrations have been treated for two particular cases. The first case is that in which the free liquid surface is covered by a flexible membrane, exhibiting a non-linear stress ...

Dynamic behavior of flexible rectangular fluid containers

Thin-Walled Structures, 2013
An analytical method is proposed to determine the dynamic response of 3-D rectangular fluid containers with four flexible walls, subjected to seismic ground motion. By applying Rayleigh–Ritz method using the vibration modes of flexible plates, fluid–structure interaction effects on the dynamic responses of fluid containers are considered.

Optimal Shape of a Rectangular Road Container

Journal of Fluids and Structures, 1993
Abstract An optimization study applied to rectangular liquid tankers, subjected to some road manoeuvers, is presented and discussed. The optimal geometrical shape, given by the height/width ratio of a container, is computed based on the nonlinear static analysis of the liquid loading arising during such manoeuvers of the vehicle as steady cornering ...

Sloshing waves in electrified fluid layers in an excited rectangular container

Applied Ocean Research, 2019
This work aims to demonstrate the dynamical properties of the free interface separating two bounded layers of electrified Newtonian fluids inside a parametrically excited boxed basin.

Free vibration and dynamic response analysis of liquid in a rectangular rigid container with an elastic baffle

Ocean Engineering, 2020
In practical applications, undesirable deformation and failure of the container may appear due to intense liquid oscillation. Anti-slosh baffle is extensively applied to the reduction of sloshing response.
