Response of endlessly long shipping channel due to earthquake
Ground-supported tanks are used to store a variety of liquid. The fluid develops hydrodynamic pressure on walls and bottom of tank during an earthquake.

The effect of nanofluids on the melting process of PCMs (RT58 paraffin wax) in a rectangle container is a topic of interest for many researchers. The use of nanofluids in PCMs can lead to faster and more efficient melting, resulting in improved energy ...

Damping of liquid sloshing by foams: from everyday observations to liquid transport
We perform experiments on the sloshing dynamics of liquids in a rectangular container submitted to an impulse. We show that when foam is placed on top of the liquid the oscillations of the free interface are significantly damped.

On the boundary-layer structure of patterns of convection in rectangular-planform containers [PDF]
This paper considers the structure of steady-state solutions of the Swift–Hohenberg equation describing convection in shallow rectangular-planform containers heated from below.

Analysis of Turbulent Free Convection in a Rectangular Rayleigh-Benard Cell [PDF]
The present study compares results of direct numerical simulations of thermal convection within a rectangular geometry with Rayleigh-Benard convection in thin fluid layers and cylindrical geometries.

Ant colony optimization for container loading problem. [PDF]
Problem statement: The Container Loading Problem (CLP) considers packing a subset of given rectangular boxes into a rectangular container of fixed dimensions in the most optimum way.

Exact algorithms for the rectilinear block packing problem
The rectilinear block packing problem is a problem of packing a set of rectilinear blocks into a larger rectangular container with fixed width and unrestricted height. A rectilinear block is a polygonal block whose interior angles are either 90◦ or 270◦.

A volume-of-fluid formulation for the study of co-flowing fluids governed by the Hele-Shaw equations
We present a computational framework to address the flow of two immiscible viscous liquids which co-flow into a shallow rectangular container at one side, and flow out into a holding container at the opposite side.

Nearly inviscid Faraday waves in containers with broken symmetry [PDF]
In the weakly inviscid regime parametrically driven surface gravity-capillary waves generate oscillatory viscous boundary layers along the container walls and the free surface.
