Metamaterial Antennas Enhance MRI of the Eye and Occipital Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A radiofrequency antenna platform comprising planar and bend configurations is developed, incorporating structurally integrated epsilon‐negative metamaterial unit cells to enhance MRI. These antennas enable high‐resolution in vivo human MRI of the eye, orbit, and occipital brain. Comprehensive validation, including simulations, phantom experiments, SAR,

Modeling of gapped power bus structures for isolation using cavity modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Power bus resonance characteristics of a gapped power-plane with a slit and a split power-plane with a gap were studied, using a fast algorithm based on a full cavity-mode resonator model and the segmentation method.

Design of the Wide Dual-Band Rectangular Souvenir Dielectric Resonator Antenna

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Design of the wide dual-band rectangular souvenir dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is discussed. The proposed wide dual-band rectangular DRA was excited by using a U-slot.

Nano Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Terahertz Applications

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal
The paper describes a novel method for increasing gain on a Nano RDRA using a Teflon substrate. The results of the enhanced gain are analyses and compared to previous research work. A Nano RDRA was designed and simulated using CST software. At a frequency of 500THz, the antenna structure contains rectangular dielectric resonators with higher antenna ...

Strong Lateral Confinement of Hydrophilic Silica Nanoparticles on Mg‐Al Layered Double Hydroxides Nanoflakes for Enhanced Thermal Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A nanostructured, naturally flame‐retardant, and non‐toxic inorganic composite is introduced, which is laterally associated with silica nanoparticles to induce the restacking of the LDH lamella structure, thereby serving as an efficient thermal insulator.

Bonding of Acrylic Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives and Silicone Elastomers via Surfactant‐Assisted Plasma Activation for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A simple strategy is presented for bonding acrylic PSAs and silicone elastomers by curing surfactant‐doped Ecoflex on oxygen‐plasma‐treated VHB. The interface reaches a maximum strength of 1.6 N/mm (over 20 times that of the control) while retaining material compliance.

Energy Coupled Mode Theory for an arbitrary number of resonators

open access: yes, 2014
There is recent interest in the inter and intra element interactions of metamaterial unit cells. To calculate the effects of these interactions which can be substantial, an ab initio general coupled mode equation, in the form of an eigenvalue problem, is
