Stacked Rectangular Microstrip Antenna with a Shorting Plate for Dual Band (VICS/ETC) Operation in ITS [PDF]
A stacked rectangular microstrip antenna with a shorting plate is proposed as a car antenna for dual band (VICS and ETC) operation in the ITS. The proposed antenna has the proper radiation patterns for the VICS and ETC.

2D Skeletal Muscle Thin Film Actuators Enhance Efficiency of Biohybrid Robots
2D skeletal muscle thin film actuators generate millinewton‐scale forces and millimeter‐scale strokes while remaining functional for over 30 days. Their force density is 20‐fold higher than 3D skeletal muscle actuators, enabling multi‐fin robots with tunable speed and multidirectional steering.

This work reveals the UV‐curing‐induced monomer‐rich domain, oligomer‐rich domain, and entangled oligomer domain. The cured submicron films in stressed state induce interlayer nano‐wrinkle structures during the deposition of the second layer. Stress‐free cured films in relaxed state form non‐diffusive, diffusive and semi‐diffusive interlayer ...

Genetically Programmed Shape‐Morphing of Engineered Living Materials
Here, bacterial and mammalian engineered living materials (ELMs) are presented, in which living cells direct genetically programmed and enzymatically mediated shape‐morphing. The resulting deformation and shape‐recovery can be actuated in a genetically controlled manner by an ELM incorporating out‐of‐equilibrium counteracting biochemical reactions with

Vibrations of an Inhomogeneous Rectangular Plate [PDF]
Low-frequency vibrations of a thin multifibrous plate are analysed. Asymptotic homogenization and finite element methods are used to get the vibration frequencies.

Here, we establish a low‐dose liquid‐phase electron microscopy workflow for real‐time observation of biological processes in hydrated conditions. Beam damage is reduced by imaging only 20% of the pixels and reconstructing the complete image using an inpainting algorithm.
