Singular values of a real rectangular tensor
Eigenvalues for real square tensors have been introduced and nice properties such as the Perron-Frobenius theorem for eigenvalues of nonnegative square tensors have been obtained in recent years. Real rectangular tensors arise from the strong ellipticity condition problem in solid mechanics and the entanglement problem in quantum physics. In this paper

On Non-Tensor Product Bivariate Fractal Interpolation Surfaces on Rectangular Grids [PDF]
Some years ago, several authors tried to construct fractal surfaces which pass through a given set of data points. They used bivariable functions on rectangular grids, but the resulting surfaces failed to be continuous. A method based on their work for generating fractal interpolation surfaces is presented.

Multi-scale study of diffusion in composite grain–pore systems based on particles random walk
This paper studies diffusion processes at different scales in two-dimensional (2D) composite media (grain–pore porous micromodels). To model diffusion, this study uses the random walk particle tracking (RWPT) method based on 2D analytical solutions in ...

Two-dimensional Nye figures for hemitropic micropolar elastic solids [PDF]
The paper is devoted to a wide range of problems related to the two-dimensional Nye figures for micropolar continua. The method of two-dimensional matrix representation of fourth-rank tensors is well known from monographs on crystallography.

Technical note: Finite element formulations to map discrete fracture elements in three-dimensional groundwater models [PDF]
Typically, in finite element groundwater models, fractures are represented by two-dimensional triangular or quadrilateral elements. When embedded in a three-dimensional space, the Jacobian matrix governing the transformation from the global three ...
