Textile-Based Rectennas

2014
The proliferation of portable devices, their growing integration into human lives and the surrounding environment, and the necessity to keep them powered have led to the increasing interest in radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting and its use in wireless mobile devices charging.

Quantum Rectennas for Photovoltaics

2014
This chapter reviews the current status of reach into quantum rectennas for photovoltaics. These are optical antennas coupled to rectifiers that could couple optical solar radiation to a load via a rectifier. In principle, there should be no reason why the electromagnetic wave technologies which are so successfully used for radio communications cannot ...

Progress in the Design of Rectennas

Journal of Microwave Power, 1969
AbstractThis paper reviews the progress in the design of rectennas which are used to collect and rectify the microwave energy at the receiving end of a microwave beam power transmission system. A new lightweight rectenna which provides 20 watts of power but weighs only 20 grams is described. Future trends in construction are discussed.

Towards rectennas for solar energy harvesting

2013 Proceedings of the European Solid-State Device Research Conference (ESSDERC), 2013
The modeling of terahertz components for application in rectifying antennas (rectennas) for solar energy harvesting is described. The components under consideration are metal insulator insulator metal (MIIM) rectifiers and patch antennas. The Schrodinger equation is solved using numerical methods, to predict the bound states that occur in the ...
