ABSTRACT In this work, we introduce a trifluoromethoxy (OCF3) group as a pseudo‐halogen terminal group design for non‐fullerene acceptors, which combines strong inductive electron‐withdrawing ability with moderate resonance donation. The as‐synthesized BTP‐OCF3, when benchmarked against its methoxy analogue BTP‐OCH3, demonstrates narrowed bandgap ...

Thermal rectifier from deformed carbon nanohorns
We study thermal rectification in single-walled carbon nanohorns (SWNHs) by using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics (MD) method. It is found that the horns with the bigger top angles show larger asymmetric heat transport due to the larger structural ...

Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Rectification in Graphene Nanoribbons: a Molecular Dynamics Study [PDF]
We have used molecular dynamics to calculate the thermal conductivity of symmetric and asymmetric graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) of several nanometers in size (up to ~4 nm wide and ~10 nm long). For symmetric nanoribbons, the calculated thermal conductivity

We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

Chaos and rectification of electromagnetic wave in a lateral semiconductor superlattice [PDF]
We find the conditions for a rectification of electromagnetic wave in a lateral semiconductor superlattice with a high mobility of electrons. The rectification is assisted by a transition to a dissipative chaos at a very high mobility.

Algorithmic Design of Disordered Networks With Arbitrary Coordination: Application to Biophotonics
Predictive Design of Disordered Networks: Disordered network‐like morphologies are abundant in nature, from cytoskeletal networks to bone structures and chalcogenide glasses. These structures are naturally hard to characterize. A new algorithmic tool extends the established Wooten–Weaire–Winer (WWW) algorithm to valencies above 4.

Model $I$--$V$ curves and figures of merit of underdamped deterministic Josephson ratchets
We propose simple models for the current-voltage characteristics of typical Josephson ratchets. We consider the case of a ratchet working against a constant applied counter force and derive analytical expressions for the key characteristics of such a ...

ABSTRACT Materials that can deform, sense, and autonomously generate power in response to wireless magnetic fields, through both magnetic‐actuated shape transformation and charge generation, are an emerging focus in advanced functional materials research.

Magnetically Induced Thermal Rectification [PDF]
We consider far from equilibrium heat transport in chaotic billiard chains with non-interacting charged particles in the presence of non-uniform transverse magnetic field.
