Single‐Crystalline Lateral p‐SnS/n‐SnSe van der Waals Heterostructures by Vapor Transport Growth with In Situ Bi Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

Hydrogen bonds and asymmetrical heat diffusion in a-Helices. A Computational Analysis

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, we report the heat rectifying capability of a-helices. Using molecular dynamics simulations we show an increased thermal diffusivity in the C-Terminal to N-Terminal direction of propagation.

Noise reduction of coincidence detector output by the inferior colliculus of the barn owl [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A recurring theme in theoretical work is that integration over populations of similarly tuned neurons can reduce neural noise. However, there are relatively few demonstrations of an explicit noise reduction mechanism in a neural network.

Impact of temperature approach on the behavior of the rectification heat and mass exchanger under fouling constraints

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
In industrial applications, thermal separation of substances is carried out in rectification and distillation columns and each one of them is equipped with condenser and reboiler. Such technology is energy-consuming, i.e.

Radially-Distorted Conjugate Translations

open access: yes, 2018
This paper introduces the first minimal solvers that jointly solve for affine-rectification and radial lens distortion from coplanar repeated patterns. Even with imagery from moderately distorted lenses, plane rectification using the pinhole camera model

DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATIC REFLUX RATIO REGULATION SYSTEM FOR THE RECTIFICATION COLUMN

open access: yes, 2020
This article provides an overview of the methods of managing the primary petroleum refining. To improve separation efficiency was proposed to stabilize the reflux ratio in the rectifying column. Purpose of work.

Charge Transport in Ternary Charge‐Transfer Solid Solution Single Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study deconvolutes the roles of indirect (superexchange) and direct electronic coupling on charge transport in single crystals of an organic charge‐transfer molecular semiconductor (OSC). This model system elegantly demonstrates that structural defects introduced by chemical dopants play a significant role in the electronic performance ...

Reversible Vortex Ratchet Effects and Ordering in Superconductors with Simple Asymmetric Potential Arrays

open access: yes, 2007
We demonstrate using computer simulations that the simplest vortex ratchet system for type-II superconductors with artificial pinning arrays, an asymmetric one-dimensional (1D) potential array, exhibits the same features as more complicated two ...
