Aviram-Ratner rectifying mechanism for DNA base pair sequencing through graphene nanogaps

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate that biological molecules such as Watson-Crick DNA base pairs can behave as biological Aviram-Ratner electrical rectifiers because of the spatial separation and weak hydrogen bonding between the nucleobases.

Developments of the pinned photodiode terahertz rectifier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents we presents a development of the structure of the pinned photodiode terahertz rectifier, in which the metal whisker of the antenna is separated from the semiconductor by a silane oxide layer, in order to reduce the surface ...

Space curves defined by curvature–torsion relations and associated helices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The relationships between certain families of special curves, including the general helices, slant helices, rectifying curves, Salkowski curves, spherical curves, and centrodes, are analyzed. First, characterizations of proper slant helices and Salkowski

Effects of Ranolazine, a Novel Anti-anginal Drug, on Ion Currents and Membrane Potential in Pituitary Tumor GH3 Cells and NG108-15 Neuronal Cells

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2009
.: Ranolazine, a piperazine derivative, is currently approved for the treatment of chronic angina. However, its ionic mechanisms in other types of cells remain unclear, although it is thought to be a selective blocker of late Na+ current.

Darboux Rectifying curves on a smooth surface

open access: yes, 2021
The main aim of this paper is to investigate Darboux rectifying curves on a smooth surface immersed in the Euclidean space. First, we discuss the component of the position vector of a Darboux rectifying curve on a smooth immersed surface under the isometry of surfaces.

Behavior of spatial curves under different transformations in Euclidean 4-space

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
This study investigates the conditions under which various curves maintain their characteristics when mapped between two regular surfaces in four-dimensional Euclidean space E4{{\mathbb{E}}}^{4}.

Hysteretic current-voltage characteristics and resistance switching at an epitaxial oxide Schottky junction SrRuO$_{3}$/SrTi$_{0.99}$Nb$_{0.01}$O$_{3}$

open access: yes, 2004
Transport properties have been studied for a perovskite heterojunction consisting of SrRuO$_{3}$ (SRO) film epitaxially grown on SrTi$_{0.99}$Nb$_{0.01}$O$_{3}$ (Nb:STO) substrate.

Quasi-position vector curves in Galilean 4-space

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The Frenet frame is not suitable for describing the behavior of the curve in the Galilean space since it is not defined everywhere. In this study, an alternative frame, the so-called quasi-frame, is investigated in Galilean 4-space.

Orientation selectivity in inhibition-dominated networks of spiking neurons: effect of single neuron properties and network dynamics. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2015
The neuronal mechanisms underlying the emergence of orientation selectivity in the primary visual cortex of mammals are still elusive. In rodents, visual neurons show highly selective responses to oriented stimuli, but neighboring neurons do not ...
