Ex Vivo Preservation of Porcine Vascularized Composite Soft Tissue Allografts

open access: yesArtificial Organs, Volume 49, Issue 6, Page 955-966, June 2025.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of ex vivo perfusion (EVP) for vascularized composite tissue preservation. EVP preserved abdominal free flaps for 24 h within physiologic parameters and without development of edema. EVP may extend preservation time and geographic reach for VCAs.
