Impact of etiology leading to abdominoperineal resection with anterolateral thigh flap reconstruction: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, Volume 127, Issue 1, Page 40-47, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Large and deep perineal defects following abdominal perineal resection (APR) are a challenge for reconstructive surgeons. Even if generally performed for oncological reasons, APR can be indicated as well in extended infection‐related debridement for Hidradenitis suppurativa, Fournier's gangrene, or Crohn's disease.

Treatment of Delayed Acetabular Fractures by Periacetabular Osteotomy through the Lateral‐Rectus Approach

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 14, Issue 12, Page 3233-3241, December 2022., 2022
The lateral‐rectus approach (LRA), with a clear exposure of the ipsilateral pelvis in an intrapelvic visualization, facilitates periacetabular osteotomy and reduction. Our study suggests that LRA is an effective and minimally invasive method for the treatment of delayed acetabular fractures in addition to neither posterior wall fracture nor dislocation.

Control Interface for Hands-free Navigation of Standing Mobility Vehicles based on Upper-Body Natural Movements [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2020, pp. 11322-11329, 2020
In this paper, we propose and evaluate a novel human-machine interface (HMI) for controlling a standing mobility vehicle or person carrier robot, aiming for a hands-free control through upper-body natural postures derived from gaze tracking while walking. We target users with lower-body impairment with remaining upper-body motion capabilities.

Inter‐examiner reliability of the Doha agreement meeting classification system of groin pain in male athletes

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 189-196, February 2023., 2023
The Doha agreement classification is used to classify groin pain in athletes. We evaluated the inter‐examiner reliability of this classification system. We prospectively recruited 48 male athletes (66 symptomatic sides) with groin pain between 10–2017 and 03–2020 at a sports medicine hospital in Qatar.
