Eco‐Friendly Aqueous Polymeric Binders for High‐Performance Graphite Anodes: Structure–Property Insights for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) is commonly used as a binder material in the preparation of anode or cathode electrode slurries for commercial Li‐ion batteries (LIBs). High‐cost PVdF binder generally requires the use of toxic and environmentally unfriendly N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) as a solvent for dissolution.

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

From Managing Innovation to Governing Value: Reconceptualizing the Role of Intellectual Property in the Sustainable Business Model

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of intellectual property (IP) in promoting or hindering sustainable innovation now forms a topical issue in innovation management. Its role in the sustainable business model remains imperfectly understood however, creating a simplified view of IP in relation to corporate sustainable development. Hence, this study sought to examine how

Impact of Distillation Column Design on Potential for the Integration of Mechanical Vapor Recompression

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Mechanical vapor recompression integration in distillation is analyzed, focusing on feed preheating and column pressure drop. Binary methanol–water and benzene–toluene separations are studied to identify optimal designs, which are further assessed in a bioethanol vacuum distillation sequence regarding energetic, ecological, and economic performance ...

RANCIÈRE AND THE RECUPERATION OF POLITICS

open access: yesPhronimon, 2018
In the work of Jacques Rancière one encounters a welcome and uncompromising return to the question of the political, or politics proper, as opposed to politics in the ordinary sense of the word. For Rancière, the political is something irreducible, where the fundamental equality of all human subjects manifests itself, while customary politics is ...

The Recuperation of Sacrifice

open access: yesRoczniki Teologiczne, 2021
We could better understand the sacrifice of the mass if we could recuperate the word “sacrifice.” The common, secular understanding of sacrifice speaks in terms of loss, sadness, and giving something up, whereas the biblical, theological understanding speaks in terms of gift, joy, and giving to God.
