Poincar\'e recurrences and Ulam method for the Chirikov standard map [PDF]
We study numerically the statistics of Poincar\'e recurrences for the Chirikov standard map and the separatrix map at parameters with a critical golden invariant curve. The properties of recurrences are analyzed with the help of a generalized Ulam method.

Differential Equations for Algebraic Functions [PDF]
It is classical that univariate algebraic functions satisfy linear differential equations with polynomial coefficients. Linear recurrences follow for the coefficients of their power series expansions.

Estimation of risk of recurrence in early-stage oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC) remains a challenge in the field of head and neck oncology. We examined the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to predict recurrences in early-stage OTSCC ...

On the sum of partition norms and its connection to norms of partitions with parts greater than one [PDF]
We study the —the product of the parts of a partition—with emphasis on partitions whose parts all exceed 1. We obtain two bivariate recurrences for the sum of norms over partitions into distinct parts, including a refinement that separates the ...

The Recurrence Relations in Teaching Students of Informatics
The topic ``Recurrence relations'' and its place in teaching students of Informatics is discussed in this paper. We represent many arguments about the importance, the necessity and the benefit of studying this subject by Informatics students.

In addition to tumor characteristics and lifestyle factors, cancer relapses are often related to the risk of death but have not been jointly studied. We investigate the prognostic factors of recurrent events and death after a diagnosis of breast cancer ...

Recurrences for Eulerian polynomials of type B and type D [PDF]
We introduce new recurrences for the type B and type D Eulerian polynomials, and interpret them combinatorially. These recurrences are analogous to a well-known recurrence for the type A Eulerian polynomials.

(1) Recurrent parotitis is probably caused by a congenital abnormality of the salivary gland ducts with recurrent attacks of ascending infection, perhaps aided by dehydration. The parotid gland is predominantly affected probably because of its lower rate of secretion compared with the submandibular gland.

Rheumatic Fever Prevention Program: long term evolution and outcomes
This investigation aims to analyze the profile of long term evolution of rheumatic fever in children and adolescents and outcomes after the control of recurrences. The cohort involved 702 patients followed from 1.3 to 16.9 years covering the two periods,
