Transition Metal Compounds as Thermochromic Materials: Classification, Properties, Limitations, and Applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

Febrile Seizures: The COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond

open access: yesÇocuk Dergisi
Objective: Febrile seizures are common reasons for admission to paediatric emergency departments. There is evidence suggesting that the frequency, severity, and seasonal distribution of non-COVID infections have changed since the removal of measures ...

Cenobamate use in super‐refractory status epilepticus: A report of three cases

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Super‐refractory status epilepticus (SRSE) is a neurological emergency with high morbidity and mortality. Cenobamate, a novel antiseizure medication, may be helpful in managing SRSE, but evidence is limited. Methods This retrospective case series reports the use of cenobamate as add‐on therapy in the management of three cases of ...

Efficacy of Early Intervention with Liskantin or Primidone to Decrease Developmental Delay in Children with Drowet and GEFS+ Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation, 2014
Objective: Febrile seizure (FS) occurs between 6 months and 6 years of age. Febrile seizure is a common disease in pediatrics. Some patients are retarded with recurrent febrile seizure.

Occipital irregular delta activity in focal epilepsy

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Nonspecific occipital irregular delta activity (OID) is a common finding in focal epilepsy (FE). However, the significance of OID and its relationship to the underlying etiology of FE remain largely unstudied. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between OID and the etiology of FE, as well as the relationship between OID ...

Electroclinical phenotypes—genetic characterization of developmental and epileptic encephalopathies in a cohort study

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) are characterized by refractory seizures and frequently recurring epileptic activity with neurodevelopmental delay or regression that usually begin in early life. We aimed to define the relationship between electroclinical features and etiology, as well as the genotype–phenotype ...

Serum Neurofilament Levels in Children With Febrile Seizures and in Controls

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2020
ObjectiveNeuroaxonal damage is reflected by serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) values in a variety of acute and degenerative diseases of the brain. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of febrile and epileptic seizures on sNfL, serum ...

Prevalence of recurrent symptoms and their association with epilepsy and febrile seizure in school-aged children: a community-based survey in Iceland.

open access: yes, 2013
We determined the prevalence of common recurrent symptoms in a community-based study of children and investigated whether these symptoms were associated with epilepsy and febrile seizure.

Epilepsy with eyelid myoclonia beyond the classical phenotype: Longitudinal electroclinical observations in a pediatric cohort

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy with eyelid myoclonia is a childhood‐onset generalized epilepsy syndrome with variable recognition of eyelid myoclonia, eye‐closure sensitivity, and photosensitivity during follow‐up. We aimed to characterize longitudinal clinical and electroencephalographic features in pediatric epilepsy with eyelid myoclonia, focusing on ...
