New partition function recurrences

open access: yes, 2020
We present Euler-type recurrence relations for some partition functions. Some of our results provide new recurrences for the number of unrestricted partitions of $n$, denote by $p(n)$. Others establish recurrences for partition functions not yet considered.

Parking functions on toppling matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Let $\Delta$ be an integer $n \times n$-matrix which satisfies the conditions: $\det \Delta\neq 0$, $\Delta_{ij}\leq 0\text{ for }i\neq j,$ and there exists a vector ${\bf r}=(r_1,\ldots,r_n)>0$ such that ${\bf r}\Delta \geq 0$.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

-FUNCTIONS OF ELLIPTIC CURVES AND BINARY RECURRENCES [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2013
AbstractLet$L(s, E)= {\mathop{\sum }\nolimits}_{n\geq 1} {a}_{n} {n}^{- s} $be the$L$-series corresponding to an elliptic curve$E$defined over$ \mathbb{Q} $and$\mathbf{u} = \mathop{\{ {u}_{m} \} }\nolimits_{m\geq 0} $be a nondegenerate binary recurrence sequence.

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

DanQ: a hybrid convolutional and recurrent deep neural network for quantifying the function of DNA sequences. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Modeling the properties and functions of DNA sequences is an important, but challenging task in the broad field of genomics. This task is particularly difficult for non-coding DNA, the vast majority of which is still poorly understood in terms of ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

On common fixed points, periodic points, and recurrent points of continuous functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
It is known that two commuting continuous functions on an interval need not have a common fixed point. However, it is not known if such two functions have a common periodic point.
