Recurrent Hypersomnia in Two Adolescent Males with Asperger's Syndrome
Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 1992Two individuals with Asperger's syndrome, a rare pervasive developmental disorder, developed recurrent episodes of hypersomnia and abnormal behavior (Kleine-Levin syndrome) during adolescence. Recurrent Hypersomnia Secondary to Sleep Apnea
Archives of Neurology, 1978To the Editor.— The recent clinical note by Spira and Scheinberg ( Arch Neurol 34:513-514, 1977) in which they state that Pickwickian patients are not sleep-deprived but have a syndrome caused by hypoventilation and hypercapnia perpetuates conflicting and ambiguous terminology used for the sleep-disordered, obese, "Pickwickian" group of patients ...

Recurrent Hypersomnia Secondary to Sleep Apnea-Reply
Archives of Neurology, 1978In Reply.— Kuban's letter focuses on the problem of nosologic semantics in sleep disorders. We agree that the true pathogenesis of hypersomnia in "Pickwickian syndrome" is not understood in most instances and would also agree that there are many obese patients with true sleep-deprivation symptoms.

Migraine with brainstem aura presenting as recurrent hypersomnia (Kleine-Levin syndrome)
Practical Neurology, 2016Recurrent hypersomnia, or Kleine-Levin syndrome, is rare and frequently causes substantial diagnostic anxiety and delay. Patients often undergo multiple investigations to rule out other causes of encephalopathy. The treatment options are unsatisfactory.

Recurrent hypersomnia in an 18-year old boy: CSF hypocretin level and MSLT findings
Sleep Medicine, 2016To the Editor: We read with great interest the report by Lopez and colleagues, “Preliminary results on CSF biomarkers for hypothalamic dysfunction in Kleine-Levin syndrome (KLS),” which emphasized recurrent hypothalamic alteration as the pathophysiology of KLS [1]. We commend their serial case reports about cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarker analysis,
