Additional value of uterine artery Doppler pulsatility index for ultrasound diagnosis of placental site trophoblastic tumor: prospective cohort study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The ultrasound diagnosis of placental site trophoblastic tumor (PSTT) is challenging owing to a lack of pathognomonic features. Differential diagnosis from other forms of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is critical owing to major differences in prognosis and treatment.

Placental biomarker and fetoplacental Doppler abnormalities are strongly associated with placental pathology in pregnancies with small‐for‐gestational‐age fetus: prospective study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Placental dysfunction can result in small‐for‐gestational age (SGA) or fetal growth restriction (FGR). The aim of this prospective cohort study was to assess the association of the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) and other more conventional fetoplacental Doppler indices, circulating placental growth factor (PlGF) levels and soluble fms ...

Glycopattern comparison of sperm and exosomes from conventional in vitro fertilization and rescue intracytoplasmic sperm injection: Enhancing sperm motility through exosome‐mediated glycan modulation

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Infertility is a global concern, with male factors contributing to nearly half of cases. This study compared glycopatterns of sperm and sperm‐derived exosomes from conventional IVF and rescue ICSI (RICSI) patients, revealing key differences in glycan expression.

Unveiling the complex extra‐oral colonization pathways and pathogenic mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum, a heterogeneous oral pathogen

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
We summarize the taxonomic characteristics, capabilities to adhere to and invade host cells, extra‐oral ectopic colonization pathways, and major pathogenic mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum, and explore the regulation of F. nucleatum’s pathogenesis, aiming to provide references and assistance for the development of clinical interventions and future

Induced placentitis after vaginal manipulation in two late pregnant alpacas

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Two prepartum female alpacas were referred to our institution with the presumed diagnosis of uterine torsion. In both cases, uterine torsion was not confirmed but bacterial placentitis with Escherichia coli as the aetiological agent was diagnosed.
