AbstractThis review presents goal‐directed latent variable inference (GLean) as a unified active inference framework for embodied intelligence operating in continuous spatiotemporal domains. We address a central challenge in cognitive science: how agents generate, adapt, and understand goal‐directed actions in noisy, high‐dimensional sensorimotor ...

Design Principles for Light‐Scattering Reservoir Computing at the Edge of Chaos
Here we realize a light‐scattering reservoir computer operating with measurement‐modulation feedback, physically tunable in three axes—reservoir dynamics, input‐reservoir coupling, and reservoir interconnectivity. Sweeping each axis, we locate the axis‐specific optimum of memory capacity; the dynamic axis displays the sharpest optimum.

ABSTRACT Breast cancer is still a serious problem in the world arena, where its early and prompt detection is the most important factor in improving patient prognosis and survival. The use of traditional diagnostic techniques, such as imaging (e.g., mammography and ultrasound) and subsequent histopathological examination, is the mainstay, which ...

ABSTRACT In recent years, there has been an increasing demand to digitize production processes. In order to obtain the necessary data for these processes, numerous sensors must be installed on or in the machines. This can be difficult, especially when done retroactively, as the existing installation space must be able to accommodate the sensors.

TEAM: A time‐enhanced attention‐based model for virus mutation prediction
Abstract The evolution of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic highlights the critical need for predicting virus mutations in order to stay ahead of infectious diseases. Here, we present the time‐enhanced attention‐based model (TEAM), which combines phylogenetic sampling ...
