Controlling Film Formation in Inkjet‐printed MAPbBr3 Through Graphene Incorporation for Enhanced Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights the impact of incorporating graphene nanoflakes into precursor inks of MAPbBr3 for inkjet‐printed optoelectronic device applications. A substantial modification of the crystallization dynamics is reported despite miniscule concentrations.

Evolutionary Period Changes for 52 Cataclysmic Variables, and the Failure for the Most-fundamental Prediction of the Magnetic Braking Model

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The evolution of cataclysmic variables (CVs) is driven by period changes ( $\dot{P}$ ), for which the long-venerable consensus is the magnetic braking model (MBM).

The spectroscopic evolution of the recurrent nova T Pyxidis during its 2011 outburst. II.The optically thin phase and the structure of the ejecta in recurrent novae

open access: yes, 2012
We continue our study of the physical properties of the recurrent nova T Pyx, focussing on the structure of the ejecta in the nebular stage of expansion during the 2011 outburst.

RS Ophiuchi — A Recurrent Nova with Twin Jets [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1988
An analysis of European VLBI data of nova RS Ophiuchi shows the presence of a linear jet-like structure which has a brightness temperature of 107K at 1.7 GHz. This ejection is shown to be two sided and the 1.7 GHz emission is non-thermal. The light curves show the presence of a second, thermal component emerging at higher frequencies at a later epoch.

Microstructured Electrode‐Piezopolymer Interface for Ultrasound Transducers With Enhanced Flexibility and Acoustic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible piezopolymer ultrasound transducers are engineered by tailoring the electrode–piezopolymer interface using metallic, flake‐based, and porous graphene electrodes. Laser‐induced graphene's porous structure enables polymer infiltration, strengthening interfacial coupling and enhancing piezoelectric response and acoustic output.

Possible X-Ray Flares in a Recurrent Nova [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1990
Abstract:The dynamical evolution and nonequilibrium X-ray emission of recurrent nova remnants have been investigated by using a spherically symmetric hydrodynamic code. We assume that the nova ejecta expand into a wind from a red-giant companion. The wind material is blast-shocked, and emits copious X-rays.

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Spectroscopic Results of the Recurrent Nova RS Ophiuchi [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1990
The recurrent nova RS Ophiuchi has had five outbursts in 1898, 1933, 1958, 1967 and 1985. We present here in brief the spectroscopic results of the 1985 outburst and subsequent quiescence, based on data obtained at the Vainu Bappu Observatory (VBO), Kavalur.

Textile Actuation Based on In‐Air Actuating Polypyrrole‐Based Tape Yarns for Wearable Soft Robotics: Toward On‐Body Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work reports on the actuation behavior of CP‐based polypyrrole/PVdF TYs soaked in electrolyte/ionic liquids and woven actuators where such TYs are integrated. These studies are important toward the creation of on‐body applications such as wearable soft robotics, where textiles offer many advantages such as increased force, integrated electrical ...
