Risk of recurrent spontaneous preterm birth following preterm full dilatation cesarean delivery

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Women with a history of spontaneous preterm labor resulting in full dilatation cesarean delivery have a higher risk of recurrent spontaneous preterm birth than those with prior preterm vaginal birth or first stage cesarean delivery. Clinicians should be aware of these risks to guide counseling and management in subsequent pregnancies.

Perinatal women dominantly protect—rather than submissively cede—resources when interacting with threatening‐looking others

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract When competing for resources, people appear particularly sensitive to social cues of threat, tending to submissively cede resources to more (vs. less) threatening‐looking others. This tendency appears especially pronounced among those that are physically weaker and thus more vulnerable to harm.

Feedback control of excitability and high K+ induced epileptiform bursts in male rat hippocampal slices with a photocaged adenosine A1 receptor agonist

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Adenosine is a potent regulator of neurotransmission and neuronal excitability, through activation of Gi coupled adenosine A1 receptors (A1Rs). Adenosine has gained interest as an anticonvulsant because of its endogenous involvement in ending seizure activity, but peripheral side effects require local application.
