A comparison of the upright seated versus left lateral decubitus position during pediatric sedation‐free transnasal endoscopy

open access: yesJPGN Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Although sedation‐free transnasal endoscopy (TNE) is conventionally performed in an upright seated position in pediatric patients, emerging data suggest that the left lateral decubitus (LLD) position may improve both endoscopic visualization and patient comfort and safety.

Effect of Preferred Language on Rate of Postoperative Tonsillectomy Revisit

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Out of 1143 patients who underwent tonsillectomy, 168 (14.7%) revisited an emergency department or urgent care within 30 days of surgery. Older patients, non‐English‐speaking patients, and patients with non‐English‐speaking parents were more likely to revisit. Time to revisit did not differ by language or indication for revisit.
