Optimal batch recursive data compression
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1980A recursive linear optimal estimation method is presented which processes a batch of measured data at each estimation point. Due to this feature the new method serves as a data compression scheme. This scheme is an integrated one in the sense that the optimization is performed on a pre-filter/estimator combination.

Recursive Dynamic Compressive Sensing in Smart Distribution Systems
2020 IEEE Power & Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2020With a transition to a smarter grid, we are witnessing a significant growth in smart metering infrastructure and sensor deployment in the distribution system. The underlying communication infrastructure is stressed due to the large volume of data that is generated by the smart meters/sensors.

Recursive block structured data compression
Proceedings DCC '97. Data Compression Conference, 1997Summary form only given. A simple algorithm for efficient lossless compression of circuit test data with fast decompression speed is presented. It can easily be converted into a VLSI implementation. The algorithm is based on recursive block structured run-length coding and compresses at ratios of about 6:1 to 1000:1, higher than most of the widely ...

Transform-coded pel-recursive video compression
2016 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2016We propose an algorithm that accomplishes transform-coded, spatiotemporal, pel-recursive video compression. Traditional pel-recursive coders obtain sophisticated spatio-temporal predictions for the current pixel based on previously decoded data. The resulting per-pixel prediction errors are encoded independently so that the decoder can use previously ...

Compressed Sensing MRI Using a Recursive Dilated Network
Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2018Compressed sensing magnetic resonance imaging (CS-MRI) is an active research topic in the field of inverse problems. Conventional CS-MRI algorithms usually exploit the sparse nature of MRI in an iterative manner. These optimization-based CS-MRI methods are often time-consuming at test time, and are based on fixed transform bases or ...

Storing a Collection of Differentially Compressed Files Recursively
2014 IEEE International Congress on Big Data, 2014A collection of files can be compressed by storing each file in the collection as a delta file: one file refers to several other files. The copy instructions in a delta file could reference other files either in their encoded forms or in their (original) unencoded forms. Because files are stored compressed, the latter approach suffers from a blowout in

Redundancy and data compression in recursive estimation
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1972The problem of the existence of redundancy in the data in a recursive estimation problem is investigated. Given a certain data rate, should the estimator be run at the same rate? It is shown that under certain conditions there is redundancy in the data and the estimator can be run at a lower rate using compressed data with practically the same ...

Lossless image compression based on a generalized recursive interpolative DPCM
IGARSS '96. 1996 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2002It is shown that the generalized recursive interpolation algorithm (GRINT) proposed is the most effective hierarchical technique for reversible compression of images that typically occur in remote sensing. The main advantage of the novel scheme with respect to other noncausal DPCM schemes is that interpolation is performed from all error-free values ...
