Challenges in Algorithmic Implementation: The FLoCIC Algorithm as a Case Study in Technology-Enhanced Computer Science Education

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Learning and implementing algorithms is a fundamental but challenging aspect of Computer Science education. One of the key tools used in teaching algorithms is pseudocode, which serves as an abstract representation of the logic behind a given algorithm ...

Lossless compression of ultraspectral sounder data using recursive least squares

open access: yes2017 8th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies (RAST), 2017
Lossless compression is an important topic in ultraspectral sounder data which includes thousands of spectral channels and it needs to store or transmit data in an efficient form. In this paper, a recursive least squares (RLS) based prediction method is proposed for the lossless compression of ultraspectral data. Experiments are performed on 10 granule

Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

A Plug‐and‐Play Volume Minimizing Micromixer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microscale fluid mixing has numerous applications where rapid and efficient mixing is required, including drug discovery, bio‐analysis and point‐of‐care diagnostics. Conventional soft lithography processes, however, make the integration of robust and reliable mixing difficult to implement in practice, especially across different flow rates ...

Adaptive sequential estimator for InSAR time series phase estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
The coherence estimation errors in phase linking can be mitigated through the weighted alignment of interferometric pairs and the intermediate filtering of data subsets. The Sequential Estimator (SE) serves as a representative method.

METHOD OF DATA COMPRESSION FOR TRAFFIC MONITORING TOOLS OF COMMUNICATION

open access: yesРадіоелектронні і комп'ютерні системи, 2016
In this paper a problem of compressing data containing information on basic parameters of network traffic is considered. Twelve test sets with different types of network traffic for known monitoring tools Wireshark, Colasoft Capsa and CommView are formed.

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Shift Aggregate Extract Networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Robotics and AI, 2018
We introduce an architecture based on deep hierarchical decompositions to learn effective representations of large graphs. Our framework extends classic R-decompositions used in kernel methods, enabling nested part-of-part relations.

Bioinspired Adaptive Leg‐Claw Enables Robust Perching and Grasping for UAVs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by owl limb morphology and bat roosting behavior, this study presents a bioinspired adaptive leg‐claw mechanism that enables UAVs to perform robust and versatile perching and grasping. The design integrates a four‐link tibial structure, tension‐driven deformable feet, and active control, enabling stable perching on various branches and ...
