Robust Non-Linear Active Function-Based FxRLS for Impulsive Active Noise Control

open access: yesIEEE Access
Active Noise Control (ANC) is an effective technique for removing undesirable disturbances based on destructive interference between two noises (i.e., the superposition principle).

A Robust Nonlinear Beamforming Assisted Receiver for BPSK Signalling

open access: yes, 2005
Nonlinear beamforming designed for wireless communications is investigated. We derive the optimal nonlinear beamforming assisted receiver designed for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signalling.

Forecasting House Prices: The Role of Market Interconnectedness

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While the existing research uncovers interconnections between various housing markets, it largely ignores the question of whether such linkages can improve house price predictions. To address this issue, we proceed in two steps. First, we forecast disaggregated house price growth rates from Australia and China to determine whether ...

Quadratic Hedging of American Options Under GARCH Models

open access: yesJournal of Futures Markets, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT American options are widely traded in financial markets, yet there is a scarcity of literature on hedging in incomplete markets. In this paper, we derive optimal hedging ratios and option values using Local Risk Minimization (LRM) and Global Risk Minimization (GRM) hedging strategies through dynamic programming.

Forecasting with an adaptive control algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes
We construct a parsimonious model of the U.S. macro economy using a state space representation and recursive estimation. At the core of the estimation procedure is a prediction/correction algorithm based on a recursive least squares estimation with ...

Decoding temporal miRNA signatures of semen under in vitro exposure for forensic time since deposition estimation using machine learning‐driven modeling

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel miRNA‐based framework for estimating the time since deposition of semen stains, combining small RNA sequencing with machine learning. Time‐dependent miRNA modules were identified using Mfuzz clustering and WGCNA, followed by a multi‐stage feature selection pipeline that reduced 261 candidate miRNAs to a minimal 7‐miRNA panel.

Research on filtering of electromagnetic measurement while drilling signal in underground coal mine

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2019
In view of problems of slow convergence speed and long computation time existed in electromagnetic wireless measurement while drilling (EM-MWD) signals extracted by adaptive filtering least mean square algorithm and recursive least squares algorithm, a ...

From Reactive to Proactive Volatility Modeling With Hemisphere Neural Networks

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We revisit maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) for macroeconomic density forecasting through a novel neural network architecture with dedicated mean and variance hemispheres. Our architecture features several key ingredients making MLE work in this context.
